Imbruglia is one of four sisters and became a teen actress on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Imbruglia moved to London in 1996 to prusue a singing career. She was signed almost immediately to the RCA U.K. label. Her single "Torn" was released in 1997 and became an instant success selling over a million copies and holding at number one on the charts for 14 weeks. She continues to be one of the biggest pop sensations in Europe.
