At 14, Cruise spent a year at a Franciscan seminary with thoughts of becoming a priest. At 16, he changed his interest to acting after appearing in a school play. Moving to New York, he landed a role in 'Endless Love' and appeared in several other movies before dancing around in his underwear in 'Risky Business'. Two years later, he starred in the blockbuster hit 'Top Gun' that began his highly successful movie career. He has worked with some of the top actors and directors in the industry to make several critically acclaimed films. He received a Golden Globe Award for 'Born on the 4th of July' and has been nominated for 2 Academy Awards. He has two adopted children with his second wife, Nicole Kidman.
