Gingerbread or sugar cookie dough Any kind of icing Decorative Candy (optional) DIRECTIONS Use your own gingerbread or sugar cookie recipe or purchased dough. Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick and cut out tukeys with a turkey shaped cookie cutter. (If you don't have a cookie cutter, you can use the shape of a small child's hand). Place on cookie sheet 2'' apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool. For each cookie cut out a 2x3x31/2 triangle from the dough and bake as above. This will be the stand for your place card turkey. With icing, put one name on each cookie. Let dry. Turn over and attach a triangle on the back with more icing. Let dry completely. Stand turkey cookie up and place on table. You can decorate the front of each cookie with more icing and decorative candies. One idea is to use candy corn for the turkey's beard. HAVE FUN! |
